Commissioned by the Hyde Foundation, the sculpture functions as the central metaphor for the American Civil Rights Movement. It is permanently placed in the lobby of the National Civil Rights Museum at the former Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee. The work depicts individuals moving across time, boundries, and obstacles, struggling to achieve racial equality and human rights.
